Sky Rogue Walkthrough and Guide

Sky Rogue is a rogue-lite action flight simulator where you blow things up over land, sea, and air, on an infinite number of procedurally-generated islands. Your objective is to choose from a diverse set of planes, kit it out with an array of weaponry before going on a mission to destroy specific targets. This will involve going toe-to-toe with enemy aces or assault giant flying aircraft carriers and battleships. Check out our Sky Rogue Walkthrough and Guide to get help in the game.

Lock-On Missiles

In Sky Rogue most of the weapons are guided and for them to deal damage will require that you lock-on to a target. The Micromissile is your default weapon and can lock-on to both ground and air targets. Other missiles in your arsenal can only lock on to one of the two types of targets. To be able to automatically lock-on to a target you must fly within a range of 500. When you do so a diamond will appear and move to overlap the targetting box, when it does so you are now locked on to your target. Unless you are shooting at another aircraft at a paricularly bad angle you should hit the target when you fire your missiles.

Pitching Up and Down

In Sky Rogue you need to pay attention when you pitch either up or down as both will alter the speed of your plane. Pitching up will slow you down while pitching down will speed you up. If you pitch too far up you will slow the plane to the point where the aircrafts wings won't generate lift and you will 'stall'. You can help prevent this from happening by throttling up while pitched up. If you are pitched directly downward you should throttle down so you don't lose too much altitude and thus crash into the ground.

Turning Horizonatlly

The best way to turn your plane horizontally in Sky Rogue is to roll to the side and pull up. When you perform this maneuver you should make sure the nose of your plane is pointed more or less above the horizon to enusre you are not setting yourself up to fly directly into the ground. While you are rolled to the side you will notice that the nose of your plane will slowly fall to the ground, you need to counter-act that during your turn by either pitching or rolling.

Using the Throttle

How you use the throttle will effect your planes maneuverability. At full throttle you will turn much slower than at low throttle which will enable you to turn a lot faster when it is in this position. Use raising and lowering throttle depending on whether you want to gain airspeed or turn quickly to your advantage.

Check out our Weapon Guide to find out what missiles and bombs you can deploy to your plane.
