Saints Row is a pretty addictive game and a good game at that. It offers car chases, gun battles and the good old punch-ups. I think every gamer would want to roll around as a pimp at one stage. You are first introduced into this game as a lone wolf who happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Never the less you are picked up and put under the wing of Saints Row. You then have to fight your way into the gang, which I thought was appropriate. From then on is history, just blood shed and rival gangs being diminished.
The graphics of this game are average. Nothing flash or outstanding. The game is so big that it cant put major detail into every car or building so what lacks in graphics is made up for in the adventure and gaming experience. The in game movie graphics were however better than the game play. A positive is that I have not yet experienced any glitches with graphics.
Now the sound tracks and sound effects this game offered were outstanding. The number off soundtracks through the variety of radio stations you could choose from put saints Row ahead of any other game. Collecting hidden CDs around the map would unlock bonus music content as well. You could also dabble in music shops. My favourite radio station was the rock channel, but if you are into other music then no doubt Saints Row radio broadcaster would have it.
Saints Row offers an extensive range of game play options. You can choose how you want to take out each gang member in what style you want. Or if you dont want to get caught up in a gunfight then you could cruise the streets in any type of car you could every want on a game. You can then go and customise that car you love to make it look cooler and go faster. The choice of weapons you can have at your disposal, thanks to your cribs, is also another facet of this game. If running or driving the streets talking out wont to be gangsters in style isnt your thing then take it to Xbox Live. From there you can win from customised rides, gang turf wars or free for all brawls.
Saints Row has the potential to last awhile on the 360 scene. Gamers are stuck on passing it 100%, which is a testing, or stuck on the hard challenges set up around the map. There are also ranks to climb in the online play so this may keep players addicted until it is achieved. This game will last but my prediction is that once GTA 4 is released then this game may not see as much action as it once did.
Overall this is a fantastic game to immerse yourself into. Because it is R18 it makes the game that much better. This game is not too long or too short; it provides a challenge while also providing solid entertainment. I would recommend on giving this game a go and having some fun becoming the number one gangster/pimp.
