What are the Teams?

Listed below are the different teams, these are groups comprised of four members that are formed to fight alongside one another. The first letter of the each team member's name is used to form an acronym that stands for the name of the team.

Team RWBY

Ruby Rose

Ruby Rose is a former student of Beacon Academy and the main protagonist of RWBY. Ruby's weapon of choice is her High-Caliber Sniper-Scythe known as Crescent Rose.

Weiss Schnee

Weiss Schnee is a former student of Beacon Academy and one of the main protagonists of RWBY. Her weapon of choice is a Multi Action Dust Rapier (MADR) named Myrtenaster.

Blake Belladonna

Blake Belladonna is a former student at Beacon Academy and one of the main protagonists of RWBY. Her weapon of choice is a Variant Ballistic Chain Scythe (VBCS) named Gambol Shroud.

Yang Xiao Long

Yang Xiao Long is a former student at Beacon Academy and one of the main protagonists of RWBY. Her weapons of choice are a pair of Dual Ranged Shot Gauntlets, Ember Celica.

Team JNPR

Jaune Arc

Jaune Arc is a former student at Beacon Academy, the leader and one of the remaining members of Team JNPR, and a member of Team RNJR. His weapon of choice is Crocea Mors, which is a sword and a sheath that can expand into a shield.

Nora Valkyrie

Nora Valkyrie is a former student at Beacon Academy, a member of Team RNJR and one of the remaining members of Team JNPR. Her weapon of choice is Magnhild, a hammer that can transform into a grenade launcher.

Pyrrha Nikos

Pyrrha Nikos is a former student at Beacon Academy and a member of Team JNPR. Her weapon of choice, called Miló, was a red-and-bronze spear-like weapon that could transform into a rifle or a short sword. She used this alongside a shield called Akouo, which resembled a classic hoplon.

Lie Ren

Lie Ren, more commonly referred to by his last name Ren, is a former student at Beacon Academy, a member of Team RNJR and one of the remaining members of Team JNPR. His weapons of choice are a pair of green, fully automatic pistols with sickle-like blades attached vertically under the barrels, named StormFlower.

Team SSSN

Sun Wukong

Sun Wukong is a Faunus from the Kingdom of Vacuo, who later moved to Mistral. He is the leader of Team SSSN and his weapon is a collapsible staff that separates into two pairs of nunchucks made of guns called Ruyi Bang and Jingu Bang.

Neptune Vasilias

Neptune Vasilias is a member of Team SSSN. His weapon of choice is a gun that can transform into a guandao or a trident.

Team CFVY

Coco Adel

Coco Adel is a former student at Beacon Academy and the leader of Team CFVY. Her weapon of choice is a handbag that can transform into a rotary cannon.

Yatsuhashi Daichi

Yatsuhashi Daichi is a former student at Beacon Academy and a member of Team CFVY. His weapon of choice is a greatsword with a hooked tip.

Team BRNZ

Nolan Porfirio

Nolan Porfirio is a member of Team BRNZ. Nolan and his team fight against Team JNPR as part of the Vytal Festival Tournament in the episode 'New Challengers...'.

May Zedong

May Zedong is a member of Team BRNZ. She fought alongside her team against Team JNPR as part of the Vytal Festival Tournament in the episode 'New Challengers...'.

Team FNKI

Flynt Coal

Flynt Coa is the leader of Team FNKI.

Team STRQ

Qrow Branwen

Qrow Branwen is the twin brother of Raven Branwen, biological uncle of Yang Xiao Long and honorary uncle of Ruby Rose. Qrow's weapon of choice is a scythe known as Harbinger.
