Introduction

What is better then to have a review made by a person who is a high level on Runescape and has been playing since the dropping of party hats. Alright I would first off like to say that Runescape is a very well made game. It has many things that you are able to do. Though you are able to do more if you apply to be a member which is only 5 dollars a month. That is a good deal. Though if you don't want to be a member and want to play for free then you can do that as well. All you have to do is a simple registration and off you go. In runescape you can get your skills up and you can do quests. You can get your skills to the max level of 99 and you can have unlimited xp untill you hit 200m XP in that skill then it will stop counting. The game also has a highscores list where you are able to compare your self to your friends or everyone who plays or played Runescape. You are able to get gold and then buy items to help you with your gam9ing experience. You can also kill monsters and do normal skills such as farming, woodcutting, fishing, mining, and other common things that you would do in real life. The game takes place in the mid evil ages with kings, queens, and dragons. There are different towns that you are able to visit and you can chat with people across the world live. On the homepage of runescape you are able to check out all of the updates that have occurred on Runescape or what they are intending on adding. In the following review that I will write you will be introduced to Runescape and be shown how fun the runescape world is and you will want to join. Though if this kind of gaming is just not for you then oh well. If you really want to play or just try it out to see if you like it the game is free so all you have to do is register. Runescape is updated daily though more often weekly.

Graphics

The graphics are ok on the game. They are not as advanced as the graphics on World of Warcraft or some game that is for Xbox 360 or Playstation 3, but that are still good for a normal game on the internet. The graphics however are improving. As Jagex, the staff that runs Runescape, adds updates to skills, quests or other updates they usually will update the graphics of a town, monster or person. The graphics to start out were pretty poor compared to where the graphics are now. Jagex has no intention on stopping the modifications on the graphics of the game. They will keep adding them and once they have upgraded everything on the game, they will just start over and add more. They show great detail on the items while they are on your inventory, and greater detail while you have an item equipped or while you are just walking around without any armor or weapons equipped to you. Some of the monsters show great detail, such as dragons where they have different head shapes, horns and eyes. Instead of having one monster look the same, they have multiple styles of looks for one monster and make sure to evenly spread out the styles throughout the game. If you are walking around and you happen to find a building look at it and examine it. You can see the individual bricks and you can go to churches in runescape and see the very well crafted and detailed stain glass windows. If you happen to find a window look through it and you can see the inside of the building. The Jagex staff has an entire branch of staff just dedicated to graphics.

Sound

The sounds are well made. First off I will tell you about the music that plays while you are playing the game. On runescape during game play you have a harp as one of your options. When you click on the harp you then come into a list of various songs. However if you have just started most of those songs are all red which means that you can't play them and you haven't unlocked them How do you unlock you may ask, well you can unlock a song by just going to different areas like dungeons, towns, islands, or places like mountains, guilds ect. You can also unlock a song upon completion of a quest. Once you have completed a quest and have gone to all of the places that the quest has made you go to, you unlock multiple of songs, for the places that you have traveled to and for the completion of the quest it's self. The main part of traveling and unlocking a song is by going to dungeons, caves and other places that you have to enter and has monsters. Now for me to tell you about the action sounds. While you are in combat, whether it be with another person playing bounty hunter or clan wars, or castle wars, or as you are killing a monster, as you attack them whether you have a sword, or range or mage on you will hear sounds like a dart hitting a board a spell being cast or two swords clashing together. These sounds will only occur during combat. Though these are not the only sounds that you will hear during game play. If you are cooking something over a fire or a range you will here a sizzling sound indicating that you are cooking food. If you are woodcutting you will here a sound of an axe hitting a tree. There are multiple sounds that you will hear but they all depend on what you are doing. Now back to the music player. While you are on the music player option you will have the choice of playing the songs manually, meaning you pick the songs that you want to listen too, or you can have the music player play them at random. However while you are listening to a song and traveling the music player will sometimes switch and play a different song depending on where you are. This is because Jagex has programmed into the game that certain places will have their own songs and while you are in that area certain songs will play. If you want to know what song plays where then you can either go to the place and see what songs play or you can scroll through the list of songs that you have unlocked and you can look at the titles of the songs and some of the songs are very clear on where they are. For example. "Queens Lair" this song would obviously play at the Kalaphite Queens lair.

Gameplay

I ranked the game play at 10 out of 10. The game is very fun and even though Jagex has taken away various things from the game, it will never be completely ruined. The game play is excellent. You are always doing something and you are rarely standing around bored. If you are sick of doing skills then you can always just message some of your friends just to hang out and talk. There are a lot of possibility's that you can do. There are so many places that you are able to go to that you are always wanting to go to somewhere else and see if you can do something there. If you are ever bored of one place you can usually go to another place and be happy there. With the interaction between other people live it makes the game more fun and interesting. You can talk to people from different countries while you skill or something. The whole game was based around interaction with other characters. Other characters are able to help you with your problems. You are able to talk to Non player characters to recieve help with your gaming experience. Other then that the game is mostly adventuring and doing new things. Jagex likes to get your imput on the gaming expirience so they have polls weekly and want to see how you like it and you can vote on what updates you want and other things.

Lastability

This game gets addicting overtime. Thoguh you can easily quit at anytime usually because Jagex decided to add an update that you don't like and it changes your whole game play experience. Though the game provides so many things that you are able to do, with so many skills that are super hard to get up, or you can set goals such as get a certain kind of armor, weapon or get a certain amount of gold during your time playing the game. Now you may think well 99 in a skill isn't very hard well when you have to get 13 million exp to get 99 in one skill and with the amount of exp that just doing one task gives you and the amount of time it takes to do one task your view on this will change immediately. You are able to do so much and you start to think do I have enough time to accomplish all of this. There are a lot of various monsters with deferent levels that you can kill in deferent places and so many quests that you can do to unlock new abilities and to be able to go to different locations. Your possibilities are endless and you are always playing trying to achieve something new. You are able to unlock new things to do as you level up so you then want to adventure out and accomplish something else and before you know it you are off doing something completely different then what you originally wanted to do.

Overall

I have ranked this game overall a 10 out of 10. The game has many things that you are able to do. If you happen to come across a person that has accomplished everything ask them how long it took them to accomplish what they have done. There answer will most likely be I sometimes played all day for about 10 hours a day and it still took me over 5 years to complete everything. Runescape is updated daily usually. There is rarely a week that hasn't had anything updated. The lowest score I have given something on this review is a 9 out of 10. The only reason it has received a 9 out of 10 is because they are still working on updating it, or because it still needs work and they aren't working on it currently. The game combined with the skills and the quests and the graphics is a enjoyable gaming experience. If you don't like to play games much and just like to talk to people then you should still play it because you are able to talk to people all across the world, and if you get bored of talking to people you can then go to the bounty hunter and kill people or you can walk around an kill non player characters. With the graphics being updated very frequently and with updates coming out weekly to make your gaming experience enjoyable it shows that Jagex cares about the players and how they think the game is. They like to make sure that everyone is playing fair and they will make updates to stop people who are cheating, though that is a good thing.

Final Score: 96%
