Introduction

Runescape 2 is a web browser MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Onlin Role Playing Game). As most other MMORPGs it is based around skills, experience points, and quests. There is no real aim to the game, but just to level up, or make lots of money. It is free to play, but for $5 a month you can become a member and recieve access to more skills, a much large world and many more quests. Jagex is constantly updating the game with new skills, quests, betyter graphics, etc.

Graphics

Honestly, the graphics are pretty terrible. In the past few months though, they have reccieved a few updates, and while still not great, they aren't all that bad. In any case, the graphics is not really important in this game as such, as it seems to be aimed at people who don't have powerful enough computers to handle MMORPGs with quality graphics.

Sound

The sound isn't to bad, plenty of appropriate effects at the right times. However, as the game is fairly repetitive, these sounds can get rather repetitive as well, but they can always be turned off. The music isn't to bad, fairly amusing, but if you stay in the same area for too long and have the music on loop, you can get sick of it fairly easily. If you think about it though, anything on loop would get pretty annoying after a while - so I guess the music really isn't that bad after all.

Gameplay

As many other people have already said, runescapes gameplay consists of pointing and clicking, over and over again. But any MMORPG involves pointing and clicking, so if you have a problem with it, you probably should be playing an FPS (First Person Shooter). Although the game can get very repetitive at times, and it can take a very long time to level any skill up when you are at a high level, there is something inherently addictive about runescape that keeps peoiple playing it for ages. If you haven't played any other MMORPG before, it is really easy to get hooked.

Lastability

As said before, runescape really does have a strange addictive quality to it. Even though it doesn't compare to any other MMORPGs out there (such as World of Warcraft) people still keep coming back to play it. I probably would put it down to the fact that there is a certain satisfaction on seeing your levels rise slowly, and chatting with all the people that you meet while playing runescape. And also, as a member you get a lot of updates, so there is always something new to try doing for the first time.

Overall

Overall, Runescape is a fairly good game. When compared higher quality games it never seems to measure up, but for some strange reason, there is something so addictive about runsecape. Some people hate it, but a lot of people love it. And if you try the game, make sure you have a lot of time on your hands because once you are hooked, it is very hard to stop.
