Introduction

The third Rune Factory game released, being the first one for the Nintendo Wii. If you've played previous Rune Factory games, you will enjoy this on a lot. It is a very good improvement, with a few minor flaws. If you haven't played a previous Rune Factory game, but have played a Harvest Moon game, the basic layout of the game will be very familiar. If you haven't played Harvest Moon or Rune Factory before, this will still be a great game to try. Enjoy the rest of the review.

Graphics

The graphics are very good in this game, but there are a few glitches in them. More then most Wii games, in my opinion. The characters look incredible, and the short cut-scenes in the game are by far better. The rocks and logs look a lot like they should, and the main textures look nearly exactly like you would imagine.
The overall graphics are much better then older Rune Factory games (obviously, as the others were on the Nintendo DS), but they are also better then most, if not all, Harvest Moon graphics.
If you don't like "cartoonish" graphics, then you probably won't like these graphics much. The really cool part about the graphics is the variety. No two different things look alike. The first run-through of the game will have a lot of surprises in this aspect of the game.

Sound

Finally, a Harvest Moon/Rune Factory game with voice-over dialogue. Okay, there is only a bit, but it's better then nothing. Mainly only the eligible brides and your main character have any voice-over, but it is much better then the annoying noises that the characters would repeat over and over in previous games.
The ambient sounds are really good too. They sound almost life-like, and really add to the effect of the overall game experience.
The best part about the sound is the background music. There is a lot of variety here, and the music is very catchy. I always enjoy listening to the background.

Gameplay

The gameplay is very familiar to other Rune Factory/Harvest Moon games, besides the fact that the Wii controls are very different.
You mainly have to run a farm and try to "woo" a girl. There are twelve eligible brides to choose from, the most in any Harvest Moon and Rune Factory game that I've played. One added thing to this game, not in Harvest Moon games, is the ability to fight monsters. You go through dungeons, killing or befriending monsters. If you befriend them, they will help you on the farm. If you kill them, they are returned to their homes in the "First Forest".
The storyline is great in the game, and flows smoothly, as long as you know what to do. The basic tools you need are found in the stupidest spots ever, and you will definitely need some type of help to finish the game.

Lastability

The game is never-ending. Meaning that even after you do the main story, you will be able to play on and on, for as long as you want. But, it will get boring after awhile. Each day, after you finish the main story, is the same thing basically. Water and harvest plants, talk to people, kill monsters, then go to sleep. That's about all you need to do.
While doing the main story, it is much better, but still not that great. You have all of the same things to do each day, but you just have a few added things to do. And, with the RunePoints Meter, you can't do much in one day.
But, you will get used to it eventually. Hopefully when you are used to it, you aren't bored with the game. If you are, you'll miss out on a lot.

Overall

The graphics and sounds in the game are incredibly amazing.
The gameplay is great, although it can get a bit annoying and confusing.
Lastability just really depends on the type of gamer you are. If you like calmer games, that don't have much action in them, you will probably enjoy this game a lot. If you are a Harvest Moon and/or Rune Factory veteran, you will, of course, love this game too. But if you're into the action/adventure games, this one will probably get boring for you.
But, I'd recommend getting this game either way. Being a veteran, you will obviously want this game. And you will probably notice how great this game is compared to other Harvest Moon/Rune Factory games. If you have never played a game like this, I would still recommend it. Try it out and see if you like it.
