Punchout has finally returned after staying dormant for about 15 years.you play as little mac, assisted by his coach former boxer Doc Louis. You will have to rise up to the challenge and take on 3 circuits, with boxers of nearly nationality trying to get in your way
Nintendo titles usually are top-notch quality is this one continues the trend. The overly-buffed characters you fight really make you seem like an underdog, and the experssions the give after taking a knockout blow are priceless
Don't get me wrong this should have scored a 10/10,I mean the stuff the boxers say throughout the match sound hilarious.but that's just it,they just sound like it.more than 3/4 of the boxers don't speak english so you don't know what they are saying unless you go online and find out.rather dissapointing, but that won't keep you from laughing your head off
The punchout formula works best with no motion-sensing controls.that means it is most preferable to play with the wii-mote in a horizontal position. You can also play with the wii-mote and nunchuck, but it isn't accurate enough. Finally it also has support for the wii balance board, but this is way too clumsy to play matches in.I recommend only using it in practice mode.
Wioth the wii-mote held horizontally you use the left and right arrows to dodge.down to duck.and up to block.and the 1 and 2 buttons are used for punching
Now when you're versing an opponent at a certain point they will taunt you, when a certain area of their face begins to glow it's time for a nice punch.if time correctly you will get a star.using the stars will unleash a powerful uppercut.you can get up to 3 stars,as you get more the damage increases.but be warned,if you get hit once all your stars will be gone!
This games career mode should last around 5-6 hours. But the fun,at least for me didn't end there.there are still challenges to complete to unlock bonuses at the gallery and the multi-player is a blast with friends
Punchout returns after 15 years and doesn't fail to disappoint, the fluid controls,well-done graphics, and hilarious speech of every boxer really makes this game stand-out from any other game in it's genre
The 50$ price tag is a little much for some, but for me it was well spent
