City
Always engage in conversation with people you meet in the city as this may lead to a story thread that opens a new avenue for you to make cash or new fights.
Random Perk
Make a note of the random perk that you are assigned early in a new game and look to specialise in a discipline that allows you to take advantage of it. For example it would make sense to persue the Way of the Tiger discipline if you are given the Thin Guy perk which makes you take extra damage but increases your chances to dodge.
Spar
Sparring at the local Gym is an easy way of earning some points to spend on your skill trees. This costs a bit of cash but if you befriend Roy you will be able to spar for free and save cash.
Day of Fight
On the day of the fight you can still use any time you have available before the bout is scheduled to train or work.
Hitpoints
You can restore Hitpoints by sleeping on your couch, make sure you restore this meter after each fight.
Energy
Keep an eye on your energy stat as not having enough will mean you cannot work or train. If your energy stat is low you can raise it with energy drinks or by resting on your couch.
Change Skills
Don't forget that between rounds you can change the skills that you are using. Consider swapping in an attack that uses less Stamina if you are running low and are in danger of getting knocked down or alternately use the 'Skip Attacks' skill so you can regenerate some energy.
Hunger
If your Hunger meter reaches 0 you will not be able to work or train. If this happens you will need to see Mick who will fill your Hunger meter up enough by giving you a free meal so you get you back on your feet.
Happiness
Always make sure your Happiness meter is at least filled over half otherwise your fighter will not be able to train effectively. You can replenish your fighters Happiness meter by watching TV in your recliner at home or by sleeping.
Experience Points
Begin fighting in the Rookie League as soon as you are able to because even if you lose you will still earn enough Experience points to develop your skills.
Equipment
Before you purchase any Gym equipment make sure it trains the stats you need for your chosen fighting style.
Vending Machine
Only use the vending machine as a last resort as the drinks and snacks it sells are not very cost effective when you compare them to normal food.
Mugged
Don't carry more than $150 if you don't want to be mugged.
Covenience Store
The Convenience Store is the your one-stop shop for food, make sure you go there whenever possible and stock up on steaks as you will burn through them quick when training.
