Does any one know where the cheat gnome is?

I have entered and re entered these gnome cheats and searched all round the first island. I can't find the cheat gnome anywhere. When you enter the cheats do you have to be in the pause menue or just playing the game? Also when you enter these cheats does it make a noise when they are entered correctly? Please can someone help me as I don't know why these cheats are not working.

The gnomes wash up in crates on the beaches - revisit beaches occasionally as new things turn up there (I have found 4 or 5 of them so far). You will need an axe to open them. If you haven't made an axe yet that might be stopping the crates appearing.

Why do you call them cheat gnomes? I understand in ps2 sims yhey have cheat gnomes so you have it to cheat. . Do these gnomes have special powers I don't know about?

no u quickly press B,Z,Up,Down,B to spawn it u should find it somewhere the easiest place to find it is at east beach near the right of the statue thing
