When you beat a boss and do the bonus race how do you use the bonus part you unlock?

Well, when I won a bonus part, it simply said I owned it already. It was a drag;
There is no exclamation mark that shows what you won. You just have to look for what you own that you didn't before. It's a pain, I know.

The bonus part that you unlock you will have to search it because the game doesnt show it to you. But the bonus part it's not always something good. So do the bonus races and don't search for the bonus parts because they are not worth.
