what is best long sword or great swords and what is type of each

Great swords and long swords both have their pros and cons. Great swords allow you to block a wide variety of attacks and have a ton of power and decent sharpness. You can also hold triangle to charge your weapon, unleashing a devastating blow! However, while using a great sword you move slow when you have your weapon out and you attack slowly too. Long swords have a lot of power for their quickness. They're fast and powerful. They also allow you to move with your weapon out faster than with a great sword. You can also charge it up by attacking and hitting monsters constantly. When you get it fully charged, you get an attack bonus and you can keep tapping R for a powerful combo! However, with a long sword you can't block attacks. There are many weapons in each class. The Smolder Dragonsword is a very good, but hard to obtain long sword that works well on many monsters. There are also a lot of decent great swords out there, but I'm not entirely sure which would be one of the best. I hope this helps!

Alright, I personally use long swords, I hate how slow great swords are, and yes, when you use a long sword and keep attacking a monster, you're spirit gauge will increase, and once it's full, tap are and it gives great attacks...also, my long sword I use 99.9 percent of the time is the true devil slicer, with thunder element of 520, I use it 2 kill anything and everything, it's like the first long sword people go for into making once you're just starting to get higher in ranks, once you get into higher ranks, making long swords like the smoldering dragonsword is a good choice...

For me, I Use GS(GreatSword).
-Raw Power, and Block Ability.

Timing Dude, study thier attack pattern, And Charge It to Deal devastating Damage.

I use GS All the time and Even Mincing Tigrex,Kushala Daora,Lunastra,Teostra,Chameleos,Rathian,Rathalos and The Kut-Ku Tribe.
