You can get it by throwing a sonic bomb to chamelion an elder dragon! It is a 6* quest in the chief quest!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Elder quest 5 star - Seeking the Strange Mask - the shakalaka hide under the ground you can tell where they are by the large mushroom, go near them and they will jump out of the ground
The Shakalakas will hide in the mushrooms. Therefore you need to look for a mushroom that is unusually brighter than the others (the bright mushrooms are in dark places too).
In HR2 do the gathering in forest and hills quest in area 5 theres always a shakalaka in there and if you carve them ull ussually get a shakalaka treasure or machalite or iron ore even firestone (: hope it helps :D
