i think you find him bye the ruins were the tree has fallen and i think you have to talk to dr.hope and he will tell you about him i think because i havent unlocked him yet lol hoppe i helped
You can find the hermit after you open the yellow door on the cave near the hot springs there are two yellow doors at that cave the one that should be open is the upper one which will lead you to the dessert which you will find the fisherman if you push forward, to go to heartflame plains head north until you reach the mermaid lake there's a house there with cats outside that's where the hermit lives. =)
