I cannot find cave three (might be four) after you talk to the Hermit.. Please help!

I think you can open the 3rd cave by after talking to the mermaid in the mermaid lake. The cave is near the 2nd cave by the hot spring. Just go past the 2nd cave and the 3rd cave is there
