What's the quickest way to stir a Cauldron?

Going around the rim, you have to stir it at a normal pace. Stirring fast won’t work. And for rubbing, you have to rub up and down.

I can't remember where I got ALL the ingredients...but I was stuck on the peppermint for the longest time. There is mint....and then there is peppermint. You have to trade chess pieces with a student at the TOP of the clock tower for the peppermint.
