Use your spare time to loot the desks of fellow prisoners as the resources you can gain from them may come in useful for your escape plan. Look out for things like duct tape, files, wires and magazines. Another good source for pilfering is the canteen tray where you can get plastic forks, spoons and knives which can be used to slowly chip away at walls (forks,) the ground (spoons,) and fences (knives.)

To keep the prison bullies away you need to recruit followers, this can be don by making some friends which is achieved by offering tokens of friendship to fellow inmates in order to raise their opinion of you. Some gifts are better recieved than others, and it is up to you to work out which ones prisoners will appreciate.

To break out of the prisons in The Escapists you will need to formulate a plan. This will require getting hold of the tools you need which may require crafting from the resources you have available to you. Deciding what time you will attempt your escape, at night when guard activity is lower or during the day when you can ensure the guards will be distracted. And also a contingency plan if something goes wrong.

It is essential that you learn the routine of the prison guards so you can be sure to be in the right place at the right time. If you fail to follow the prison schedule you will make the guards suspicious and your heat level will rise which is something you need to avoid.
