Use Fast Travel to Save Yourself

You can save a lot of time in Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin by fast travelling. To fast travel you simply have to go to the in-game menu and press the world map button which you will find on the bottom-right of the screen. If while fighting an enemy you find yourself near to death during the combat encounter you can initiate fast travel to instantly escape and save yourself so that you live to fight another day.

How to Craft Better Weapons

In order to get better weapons in Sakura: Of Rice and Ruin you first need to unlock the smithing shed. This will happen after a few hours of gameplay once you have procured the required materials to build it. Once the smithing shed has been built talk to Kinta who will craft weapons for you providing you bring him the required materials. A good source to get these materials is Takeribi’s Gold Mine which can be found at the southwestern part of map. Materials you will find there include Copper Ore, Iron Ore, Gold Ore, and Wood.

Eat Meals to get Buffs

Eating dinner every night refills your hunger meter, which serves as your health reservoir. There are however a variety of dishes you can make that will grant you different stat buffs. It is therefore recommended that the night before you go exploring in the wild you make sure you make these in order to be prepared for any hostile creatures you may encounter the next day. You can choose what to eat and see which foods give you stat buffs by talking to Myrthe and selecting 'Change Menu'. Myrthe will make you humble meals automatically each evening but by taking control of the menu you can choose up to five different dishes with which to bulk up.

Use Fertilizer Daily

In order for your rice crops to flourish it is essential that you top up your paddy every day with new fertiliser. This involves gathering waste from the outhouse and taking it to the fertilizer pit where you can increase it's potency by adding some scavenged resources to it. Even after you have harvested the crops in Autumn make sure you continue to keep the soil rich by adding fertiliser through to the spring so you ensure that the new seedlings you plant have a good bed of soil to grow.

Get Advice from Tauemon

If at any point you are unsure as to what you should be doing next in the farming process or just need a second opinion on something you should visit Tauemon who will always give you sound advice which will point you in the right direction.

Process your Extra Resources into Storable Foods

If you leave your gathered food and plants overnight you run the risk of them spoiling and wasting the resources and time you spent getting them. Make sure before your evening meal you talk to Myrthe by the fireplace who can process all your extra resources that are edible into storable foods. Having storage food is useful as it helps you get through the winter and the days where for whatever reason you didn't go out and gather supplies.

Keep an Eye on your Water Levels

It is essential that you keep a close eye on the water flowing in your irrigation system because during each of the seasons the rice shoots in your paddy will require different amounts of it, which you will need to attend to accordingly. During the winter months you can completely flood the paddy but during the summer the crops will need to dry out, so make sure you empty the paddy as often as possible. You can easily make the water run out by leaving the lower gate of your water system open. Make sure you also take into account the weather, especially if it has been raining as that will impact your water levels.
