Remember that your players will improve until they peak around 27-29 and then will go into decline losing points off key stats at the end of the season. This means it is more beneficial to prioritise rookies and younger players rather than a seasoned pro who has reached their peak as they will have plenty left to give by the time you negotiate a second contract with them.
