Welcome to New York City, a place of opportunity and death. The city is ravaged by some biological virus and you have no idea what. You are Alex Mercer, a worker for Gentek and somehow was infected. You don't remember anything and how you were infected. With unlike super powers and a city to ravage all the violence you want, does Prototype bring a good story and tons of fun, or should it have stayed a Prototype? (haha punny)
The graphics are not all that great for a game that came out in 2009. There are a lot of texture problems in my opinion and nothing really stands out. Just a lot of red and blue everywhere with a lot of blood. The game is pretty bland coming from Activision(Well, most of them are). The graphics are not really something to rave about.
The music was alright if you want to listen to bland stuff. Nothing really stood out when you listened to everything. Things went boom, more things went boom, guns were fired. Cool beans. With the music you don't really notice anything special when you just play through the game. Sound is just sound in most games.
Now to the best part. Running around with superpowers in New York City, a very populated place with razor sharp claws, a huge blade, slicing and dicing people and infected. Oh sorry, I forgot there was a story too. You can really get caught up in the game by just killing people for fun in creative ways. The story can be confusing at times as you try to recollect your memory. There are minigames and events you can play in that will distract you from the actual story, along with the thousands of victims waiting to be slaughtered in many different ways. With many moves to use, go have some fun.
You should most likely read the above. There is a lot to do outside the storyline, as in trying to find the people within the web of intrigue, the events, and just endlessly killing harmless and harmful people for fun. If you need to calm down from your anger, just endlessly kill people on here. There is plenty to do and you won't be disappointed.
I got this game because a friend showed it to me and I was interested by the violence of this game, because I'm a violent video game freak. I had the pleasure of seeing the storyline and was confused. After trying out this game for myself, I had endless amounts of fun learning about Alex Mercer and his story, along with destroying half the population in the process. This is a must game for you violent people. Think Grand Theft Auto with Super Powers.
