Tales of Berseria is available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. Take a look at our tips to get help in the game.

After nearly every battle in Tales of Bersaria you will be rewarded with some kind of weapon or piece of equipment. Eventually you will reach the point where you will want to unclutter your inventory of things you don't want. Although you can always sell off these items for money it is far more beneficial to upgrade the equipment you use. You can do this by dismantling weapons you don't need, in order to get the necessary items from them to enhance the equipment you use.
Gald is the currency used in Tales of Berseria and it can be used to purchase new equipment and recovery items. You will be earning a lot of Gald as you progress through the game, and it is more beneficial to spend it rather than stash it. This is because the shops you can visit have a shared rank that's increased when you spend your Gald. Each rank gives you an additional discount at the shop, and an item. This basically means by buying up everything you can at a shop you will make items become cheaper over time.
In Tales of Berseria you are able to control any one party members during battle. Each member of the party plays differently, and it is recommended that you take the time to play with each of them in order to determine which one best suits your playstyle. Make sure you also spend time experimenting with the different artes you have at your disposal to see which combinations work best.
Skits show the conversation between your party members in Tales of Berseria and become randomly available at different times depending on the actions you have taken during the story.
Whenever a skit is available to view a triangle icon will appear in the bottom right of the screen. In order to watch it you simply have to press the Triangle button on your PlayStation controller (Y button on Xbox). Make sure you watch all the skits as they provide vital insight to the story that will help you to make important decisions.
In the early stages of Tales of Berseria it is more beneficial to have Velvet more focused in dealing heavy physical damage during a battle. Velvet's Soul Break ability is particularly effective in a fight, especially if the skill connects to form a chain. Listed below is what we consider to be the best equipment for Velvet early in the game.
Weapon:
Blood Blade
Specific Equipment:
Amber Belt
Armor:
Amber Garment
Ring:
Resist Ring
Shoes:
Battle Boots
Title:
Martial Swordsman
Always pick up ingredients for cooking from item shops whenever possible as making food at the end will help you to restore health in battle if you have run out of healing items. Each character in Tales of Berseria gives different cooking benefits, so it is recommended that you switch around depending on the dungeon and enemies you are fighting. If for example you are going into a dungeon where the enemies tend to inflict Slow you should have Elzen cook since his default cooking effect is Slow -40%.
