As you progress through Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness the boss battles will become more gruelling. You will find it more beneficial at that point to switch to a ranged character as your defeault as doing so will mean a more stable camera than those of the melee characters and you will be able to see more of the battlefield. Another benefit of switching to a ranged character such as Emmerson, Foire, or Miki is they have the best crowd control abilities in game.
