I've played this game all the way through more than 5 times as well as been in many forums; I've never come across or heard of a way to get infinite health or amo for that matter. Start mixing the herbs and stuff for extra boost.. But that's about the best I can tell you outside of "practice makes perfect"...well, makes better anyways.
