Skill Raising With Living Practice Dummies!
There are tons of hints and tips on how to level up your character faster, but so far, the best method I've found is to practice on the followers of the Daedra Peryites. The five followers there are in a trance and have apparently transported their souls to his realm in Oblivion. Being soulless makes them excellent practice dummies for just about any skill you want! They don't fight back and they can't die either. The only issue is that it is a difficult shrine to find, and imperial foresters will give you a heavy bounty if they catch you attacking the people. To find it, the best way is to start outside the Arcane University and head straight east. After a very long trip, you'll eventually come to the shrine of Boethia. From there go due South, and there you will find Peryites.
One of the best methods of practicing I've found is to hot key a defend, convalescence, weapons of your choosing, destruction spell, and conjuration spell. Cast defense on a follower then go forth attacking it in whatever manner you choose (hints from other skill leveling guides can be used). When the person finally faints, use the convalescence to restore their life, defend, and repeat! You can cover multiple skills with this method and have some good fun too. The only issue is that if you decided to do the quest for their souls, they will be normal people once again and acknowledge you'r attacks.
