How do you upgrade machines

I feel so stupid I can't figure out how to upgrade the atribute machines. Pleas can you help me.

You need 2 get more rep. Darius should call and tell about the upgrades which you buy from the stores under skill building.

Well, each upgrade case has a number in it. Look closer. You have to buy the right one to upgrade the machines.
