How do you pick up the glacious spell book I can't do it. I just lowered the stairs, and went up to the book and I have pressed everything but I cant get the spell book.

You have to go on the plat form on which you will find an owl treat, then call Hedwig,give him the treat, and steer Hedwig to retreive the spell book.
Don't listen to the guy above hes talkin about the marouders map. I think the book you are talkin about is the wrong 1. You need to become Ron and go over to 1 of the walls were you killed the book thing. On one, when you press x Ron should go through the wall and you hav done that bit.
Step in front of the book and it will say something like read spellbook and when ypu learrn the spell the area goes from ice to fire.
