What is Shinra referring to when he says "My last mission with the Gullwings"?

This in chaper 5, he is refering to the mission where you fight Vegnagun. After you beat it, the game is over, but don't worry, just wait through the credits and you can get a save game plus.

I don't get it I beat the game and got the plus mode but what does that have to do with Shinra?

Shinra Has seen vegnagun in the sphere replays and heard most of the conversations. About it while the party was on mission due to the comm link in yunas ear he knows it's either going to kill all of the gullwings or if not he Has to move on being the technical prodigy he is after he made the comm spheres and. Created a whole light show and music for yunas performance he has better career choices and can see that for himself which he does move on to bigger and better things he becomes the. Owner of shinra company in ff7 and ff7crisis core I think he re appears in other games as well kind. Of like cid going. All the way back to ff4 maybe earlier I'm sure if you look up a final fantasy lore video or two it will tell you better but yeah it's because he is about to get famous and if you watched the mt.gagazet hot springs. Clips cid and rin are not going to rebuild "Home" so being as smart as he is his choice is to look out for number 1 none of thee gullwings were ever obligated to stay the ship really just belongs to brother riku and buddy shinra. Is expendable like yuna and paine and barkeep
