After doing goku's du two times, you should go to namek and dafet friaza fly down and fiagth vageta and go to the middle insand dot and figt cooler
In dragon universe, you must beat it with goku once. On the second time, after you defeat frieza, three red dots will appear on the map. Go to the one south of where you fought frieza. There, you will fight vegeta. Defeat him and go to the new red dot (it will be in the place of one of the earlier three dots) and you will fight cooler. Defeat him and you will attain his capsule.
To get Cooler you have to go through DU mode atleast once with Goku.
When you get to the part where you fought frieza the first time, 3 dots will appear I think you have to defeat frieza first then go 2 to the dot below where you defeated him.
I think you then fight Vegeta as a SSJ.
Once you have done this a red dot should appear and cooler will be there, defeat him and he's yours.
Here's what you do: First of all, you not only have to beat Goku's Dragon Universe at least once, you need to have already beaten Vegeta's as well.
Now, after you battle Frieza (in Goku's Dragon Universe), there will be three red dots on your map. Go to the one directly below where you fought Frieza, and you will battle with Super Saiyan Vegeta.
After you defeat Vegeta, go to the dot in the middle of the screen. This dot will start a "Cooler Sequence", and he will become unlocked after you defaet him.
ALSO.......After you defeat Cooler, another event will appear in the same place: Cooler will now be "Metal Cooler".
After you talk to him as "Metal Cooler", and BEFORE you fight him: find his ship, and slowly head North. You will find the capsule that allows you to unlock him as "Metal Cooler".

To get Cooler, you need to play through the Frieza Saga, and fight Vegeta. Defeta him in his SSJ1 form, and then a single dot should be on the map. That is Cooler, defeat his ass, and you get him.

Unlocking Cooler is so freaking easy. Why do you people ask?
Any way you play through DU as Goku. Enter and battle until you defeat Freiza the first in the Freiza saga.
Three dots should appear, and you need to go to the lower-left dot.
Defeat SSJ1 Vegeta, and then Cooler's dot remains. Win that fight and he is yours.
After you beat goku's dragon universe once then go through it again sometime in the freiza saga... there will be three dots on the screen go to the one closts to the top.
