Question for Def Jam: Fight for NY

While in the upgrade skills menu, there's three dots above each skill bar. What do they represent and how can I have all the dots highlighted?

How to get highlighted involves which styles you get and what you have been doing, for example kickboxing is 2 dots for lower strength plus martial arts sor now a total of 3 but I have been doing a lot of kicking atleast 100 so that's another dot I believe 1000 or 5000 is the last dot now my lower body strength is even stronger than max.
