On sims 2 my sims 2 isnt updated for Free Time and Apartment Life, what do I do?

In the area where you start out in when you start a new game, you should be facing a big screen with Coco standing next to it. To save, simply walk up to the screen and wait a couple of seconds. Then you should have the option to Load, Save and other options.

When you walk to the screen, you can also press the X button & it takes you right into the Save mode.
