There is NO save in the game BLACK on PlayStation 2. The ONLY way to SAVE is to complete the entire level. You can play for 5 hours (level 3 is one of them) and if you still have not completed that level(died) you will start over from last level completed.
Black is a unforgiving game. You can die in the last second of the level and you will have to replay it all over again. This is why "Black" has become a cult classic . The graphics push the PS2 to the limit and you can play in Progressive Scan with component cables. Great game and NOT for the casual gamer. Aiming with a controller with enemies that take 25 shots to kill will frustrate even the best gamers. Mention "Black" to a real gamer and they know exactly what you are talking about.
