Basically you kind of deliberately make the duel last longer by not attacking your opponent (providing you have a strong defense) and you only beat him when they have a small amount of their deck left.
Try and win by making them loose all the cards before you do. Do this by using powerful cards and when they fuse they can't beat you. This will get you a TEC rank

To get an S-Tec win last all the way to the end of the match making sure you have more cards than your opponent .
The best way to do this is to play a card face down and your opponent will usually start with a fusion
