Break the divine cannon on his back that should at least help the fact that he can do a cosiderable amount of damage. After that target the head portion of his body.

gizmos9000 answered:

I would say attack the head and ignore it's other targets (although they do a ton of damage) but the head is your main target

willicat77 answered:

Don't transform and throw a lot of magic items at him and keep blocking

I used Dart (31), Miranda (24) and Albert (24). With Dart I had maxed his Lunar Attack, so it deals a lot of damage. Albert had his Flower Storm (last add) maxed, so he also deals lots of damage. With miranda I only used Defense and heal.

My strategy, as other people say was killing first his Divine Cannon, and after that y focused on his Divine ball. Atacking both with Dart and Albert on the same foe makes I take nearly 1200 Hp each round, so it was funny killing him.

DON'T turn into dragoon, do it only if you need to heal with miranda (or rose, don't bother), but be ready to sacrifice your healer and revive him after his attack.

If you do that, the divine dragon will only be a simple "pet" to kill Smile
Good luck

Yes, definitely include Dart, Miranda and Albert. BUT here is an alternate strategy to try: You can use the dragoon abilities, just not on a constant basis. Enter the battle with each of these characters having between 100 and 199 SP. That is easy to do, just keep Albert and Miranda out of the battles once they have between 100 and 199 SP and keep using up Dart's SP with his dragoon ability until you reach the point where the party starts hearing the sounds of battle, then swap them into your party. Then transform in the first round, use Albert's Rose Storm to halve damage and one of Dart's magical attacks right away. You can just attack with Shana's dragoon form and reserve her healing for later. If you bring along sun rapshodies and moon serenades as wll as a couple of spirit potions for emergencies you can keep using dragoon magic. Since there was enough SP for 1 round they will immediately return to human form as their turns end avoiding the vulnerabilities the dragoon forms impose in this battle. If you want to keep using dragoon magic you will have to build up the SP during the battle but as long as you continue using the dragoon forms immediately so the SP does not build up they are safe to use. Of course, since at this point Miranda can only transform to a dragoon every 2 to 3 rounds using this strategy having some healing items can also be beneficial. This can also be combined with carrying a bunch of magical items into the battle.

Preparation:

You can also equip everything you have that would reduce magical damage, equip Albert with the therapy ring in order to reduce the number of times you will have to heal him by regenerating his health and equip Miranda with the Amulet to double her MP for healing. Try to do this before you leave the healing area at what used to be the inn or anywhere else you stop to rest and recover health so the MP will be at full capacity after equipping the Amulet.

Bring healing breezes, you might need them.

Keep Albert and Miranda out of the battles once they have between 100 and 199 SP (and preferably full health). Use Dart' SP up before the battle keeping him between 100 and 199 SP until you reach the point where the party stops and the sounds of battle can be heard, then swap Miranda and Albert into your party.

Set the additions for Dart and Albert to the ones you can pull off consistently that do the most damage. You will be relying on your normal additions for this battle and can train newer additions some other time. At this point Dart had 5 additions and Albert had 4 additions so I recommend Dart's Crush Dance and Albert's Spinning Cane. If you are skilled enough to consistently use Gust of Wind Dance you can use that instead.

NOTE: During the battle, never let Miranda or Albert's SP go over 200 until they run out of magic. You must make sure they can at any time only transform for 1 round. The reason for this is if there is less than 200 SP the moment they are done using their magic they will immediately return to human form and avoid being subject to the Dragon Blocking Staff's effects. Defensive and healing magics are not weakened by the Dragon Blocking Staff.

The Battle

Transform into Dragoon forms in the first round, time to use some magic. Since there was enough SP for 1 round when they transformed they will immediately return to human form as their turns end avoiding the vulnerabilities the Dragoon forms impose in this battle.

Use Albert's Rose Storm to reduce damage. Watch the damage done to Albert, he can not handle magical attacks too well and if his health drops below the maximum amount of damage that has been done to him in a single attack during this battle you should use a healing breeze immediately. Albert's Rose Storm should give you 9 to 12 turns total where damage is reduced before his magic is used up but that should be sufficient for destroying the Divine Ball and Divine Cannon. After his magic is used up there will be no point in him transforming into a Dragoon for the rest of the battle. Heal him if his health drops to 500.

You can use Dart's Red Eye Dragon to get in an early hit on all 3 targets. This will not do a large amount of damage but will hit all 3 targets and is better than nothing and it is not like Dart will transform again. I do not recommend transforming Dart into a dragoon again unless you have too many Sun Rapshodies in your inventory and want to do the attack again. Dart should be strong enough to handle the attacks without taking too much damage so you do not need to worry too much about him. Heal him when his health gets down to 400.

Miranda's healing magic will be useful when a member of your party is worn down. When health appears to be at half level for a party member and Miranda has transformed into a dragoon for the moment use her magic immediately. You can just use a healing breeze or something more appropriate to heal your party if Miranda can not transform and a party member's health is too low. If nobody needs healing and you can transform guard instead of transforming, do not accumulate more SP until after transforming. Miranda can hold her own against magical attacks which are the majority of the Divine Dragon's attacks but keep an eye on her health, she is useful for resurrecting characters as well as healing. Heal her when her health drops to 300.

Destroy the Divine Ball first and then the Divine Cannon in order to reduce the highly damaging moves the Divine Dragon can perform. You can win without doing so but this will make the battle easier.

As long as you continue using the dragoon forms for Miranda and Albert as soon as they are available so the SP does not build up they are safe to use. Of course, since at this point Miranda can only transform to a dragoon every 2 or 3 rounds (depending on the weapon used), having some healing items on hand can also be beneficial for emergencies. But, I did not need them.

This strategy is not as complicated as it sounds, stick to it and the Divine Dragon will be easy to beat.

TLDR: Equip magical stuff, give Miranda something that increases magic, give Albert something that regenerates health, use powerful additions, use Miranda and Albert, make sure they only have enough SP to transform for one round to avoid damage while casting magic, use Miranda's healing and Albert's rose storm to keep your party healthy.
