my slim ps2

Is the crash bash REALLY playable on ps2 ? Because , after I put the disc and turn on my ps2 , right after ' Sony Computer Entertainment ' text appears , the ps2 just went back to the browser screen .
My question is :
Why this is happening ?

Oh , almost forgot , my ps2 model is SCPH-75006 ( the slim one ) I heard the slim ps2's CANNOT play ps1 games. Is that true ?

As far as I know, all PS2s are backwards competible, so you should be able to play the game. Perhaps the disk itself is damaged in some way. PS2s aren't great at playing slightly scratched PS1 games, even if a PS1 could play them fine.

I wouldn't lie to you. They do play PSone games. I have a slim myself. You must have a faulty system, or the disk is really scratched. I wouldn't know what else to tell you. If the problem persists, go to a store for it to get fixed, or get a PS3. Or, just use your PSone and your PS2 separately. It's not true, and whoever or whatever told you this, lied to you.
