how do i get more food ihave people picking berries but they keep going away HELP! PLEASE!

Put a bunch of villagers at the research table, and turn your game speed to 2x (Go to menu and click options). When you have enough tech points, buy the 2nd farming level, then drag a farmer to the patch of dirt under the research table. They will begin to plant crops.
Well, it depends on what level you are. Get most of them on research quick, save up for a level 2 in farming and then you can grow crops.
