Guest answered:

Demolish it rebuild and reopen it. Otherwise guests will say, "I'm not going on so-and-so it isn't safe.

Guest answered:

Click on the ride so you get a box up about it, double click on the red traffic light and it will close, then click green, it's fixed!

Guest answered:

The important thing is that you DOUBLE click the red light in the ride's window. Renaming/rebuilding is probably just to get guests to go back on the ride.

Guest answered:

Click on the ride to bring up the ride's window and then double click the red traffic light. That will reset the ride (this is in the instruction manual). You can then open the ride again by pressing the green light. The same thing works for stuck boats on boat hire rides.

Guests will initially be reluctant to use the freshly re-opened ride, but after some time they will begin to go on it again. Rebuilding can be a quick fix but does cost money due to depreciation of the original ride. I think crashes make the ride depreciate even more than it normally would.

But if your design is prone to crashing, you may prefer to take the opportunity to redesign it.

When testing a ride, you can use the same reset (double clicking the red traffic light) to prevent a crash that you can see is about to happen. This avoids making people think the ride isn't safe before you've even finished designing and testing it!
