Welcome to my first FAQ! This FAQ is about getting the pics of the characters
in Animal Crossing: Wild World and what the pics say. I made this guide by
hacking every animal's pic into my game and then writing things down here about
it. It may seem like that would take forever, but, surprisingly, I finished all
of the hard stuff in a day.

3. How to Get Pics
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

To get a villager's pic, you must befriend them. Talk to them several times a
day, but not so much that they get mad. Mail them at least one letter a day,
with a present attached. Be nice to them and do not hit them with your bug net 
or axe. After at least a week of doing all this, when you walk by them, there
will be a little beep noise and they will want to talk to you and will walk 
toward them. Talk to them. They may give you their pic.

Many people have noted that some villagers have given them their pic very 
quickly, while others have taken longer. I have gotten Ribbot's pic in a week 
without talking to him much, while it can take much longer to get other 
villager's pics.

There is a glitch. You can not get lazy male character's pics sometimes. I
do not know what causes this glitch. Sometimes the character will ask you if
you framed the picture that they gave you, when they didn't give you one. This
confirms that they are glitched and you can not get their pic with your
character. You can try to get their pic by using a different human character.
The glitch may or may not work for them. Also, if you have more than one lazy 
male character in your town, one may give you his pic, but the other may be
glitched and won't. The glitch doesn't "infect" every lazy animal at one time.

But look at the bright side.. There's another, good glitch! You can get the
snooty female character's pics without befriending them!
Talk to a snooty female animal. Here is a very rough guide of the conversation
(say the things in brackets):

Her: Hey, I was wondering, do you have any siblings?
You: "Yes" "No" ["..I don't know"]
Her: What do you mean you don't know? Are you trying to be all mysterious or 
   : something? OK, what would you say if said I was going to give you
   : something special?
You: "..." ["You go girl!"]
Her: Ok, here's the special thing; it's a picture of me! Treasure it, OK?

You can also get some (but not all) special NPC's (Tom Nook, Pascal, etc.)
pics. There are various ways to do this, each different for every NPC. 
They all pretty much involve the "Trading Quest."

How do you start the trading quest? Simple. When Joan, the turnip peddler, 
comes on Sunday before 12 PM, buy "Red Turnip Seeds" from her. Please note that
she does not always have them, so you may have to wait until next week or buy 
them from a friend. They cost 1,000 bells. Plant the red turnip seeds in the
ground. Water it daily, and after a week, I believe, dig it up with your
shovel to get a Red Turnip.

Now you have to wait until Wendell comes to your town. This can take FOREVER. 
I've been playing this game for five months and only saw him once. Talk to him
while you have the Red Turnip in your inventory, I think, or give it to him
when he asks for food (any confirmation of this would be appreciated.) He will
give you either a Turban or a Country Guitar. 

If he gives you the Country Guitar, wait until Saturday night from 8 PM to 12
PM. Go to The Roost (the basement coffee shop of the museum) and K.K. Slider 
should be there on the stage. Talk to him with the Country Guitar in your
inventory. He will ask you for it and give you his pic in return! (Tip: You can
get many of K.K.'s pic by ordering Country Guitars from your catalog!)

If Wendell gives you the Turban, you must wait some more until Saharah comes.
This may also take a very long time. Give her the Turban when she asks for it 
and she will give you either the Massage Chair or Red Vase. 

If you get the Massage Chair, talk to Tortimer on a holiday/event where he is
outside with it in your inventory. He will give you a Scallop for it (Tip: You
can get many scallops by ordering the Massage Chair from your catalog!). When
you get the Scallop, wait till Pascal comes. He may come once a week along the
beach. Talk to him and he will ask for the Scallop. He will give you either
Pascal's Pic OR the Golden Axe in return.

**Note: You must give Pascal the Scallop, not the White Scallop that you can
      : find on the beach.

If Saharah gives you the Red Vase, wait until Crazy Redd's weekly visit. Go and
talk to him with the Red Vase in your inventory. He will give you a Safe in 
return for it!

When you get the safe, go talk to Tom Nook. He will give you Tom' Nook's Pic in
return for it (Tip: You can order many Safes to get many of Nook's Pics!)

TRADING QUEST SUMMARY
1. Give K.K. Slider the Country Guitar to get K.K. Slider's Pic.
2. Give Pascal a Scallop to get Pascal's Pic or the Golden Axe.
3. Give Tom Nook a Safe to get Tom Nook's Pic.

The trading quest can get you some, but not all, special NPC's pics.

To get the K&K Pic (Kaitlin and Katie) you must reunite the two over Wi-Fi. If
you see Katie, the younger crying kitten, in your town, take her to your 
friend who has Kaitlin's town. If you have Kaitlin, the mother cat, your friend
must bring Katie to you. You MAY get the K&K Pic in return, but there are 
other items you can get instead.

To get Pelly's Pic, all you have to 100,000,000 bells in your account. Sound
hard? Try getting Phyliss's! Just save 500,000,000 bells in your bank account!

4. Villager Pic Information

The pic is called "*villager's name*'s pic" in your inventory. When you drop
it in your house, it looks like a small framed picture of the animal. You can
interact with them. Press A while standing in front of it to read:

Every pic has a unique pic phrase. This phrase is often a clever pun, something
that that animal might say, a stereotype abour the animal, or something
regarding their personality. 

Below is a list of each animal, their species, pic phrase, shirt, and frame
color.

It looks like this:

Monkey pics can only be gotten by hacking or getting them from someone else.
You can also get them if a hacked monkey moves into your town, and then achieve
them the normal way. There is no way to get monkey villagers in your town 
without hacking or having them move in from someone else's town. The pics are
in the game because the monkey villagers were in the Japanese version of Animal
Crossing: Wild World

Q: Can I get Sahara/Wendell/Mable/Sable/Brewster/Timmy/Tommy/Blathers/Katrina/
Redd/Kapp'n/Redd/Dr. Shrunk/Anyone else who is not in this guide's pic?
A: No. You can't. This is a very common question. You can't get them from 
playing the game. You can't get them from hacking. You can't get them at all.
There is absolutely no way to get any of them.

Q: I have befriended *insert lazy male character here* for a long time, but he 
won't give me his pic!! What gives?
A: There is a glitch. You can not get lazy male character's pics sometimes. I
do not know what causes this glitch. Sometimes the character will ask you if
you framed the picture that they gave you. This confirms that they are glitched
and you can not get their pic with your character. You can try to get their pic
by using a different human character. The glitch may or may not work for them.
Also, if you have more than one lazy male character in your town, one may give 
you his pic, but the other may be glitched and won't. The glitch doesn't 
"infect" every lazy animal at one time.

Q: I heard of a way to get a snooty female character's pic without befriending
them. How do you do it?
A: Talk to a snooty female animal. Here is a rough guide of the conversation
(say the things in brackets):

Her: Hey, I was wondering, do you have any siblings?
You: "Yes" "No" ["..I don't know"]
Her: What do you mean you don't know? Are you trying to be all mysterious or 
   : something? OK, what would you say if said I was going to give you
   : something special?
You: "..." ["You go girl!"]
Her: Ok, here's the special thing; it's a picture of me! Treasure it, OK?

Getting this conversation while talking is not based on your friendship with
the animal. It is random.

Q: I want to get Tom Nook's pic. How do I get the Safe?
A: To get the safe, give Redd the Red Vase. To get the Red Vase, give Sahara a
Turban. To get a Turban, give a Red Turnip to Wendell. They may not give you 
the item that you want, however. You can order a Safe from your catalog.

Q: I want to get K.K. Slider's pic. How do I get the Country Guitar?
A: To get the country guitar, give a Red Turnip to Wendell. He may give you a
Turban instead, which is much rarer, as you can order a Country Guitar from 
your catalog.

Q: I want to get Pascal's pic. How do I get a Scallop?
A: To get a Scallop, give a Massage Chair to Tortimer. To get a Massage Chair,
give Sahara a Turban. To get a Turban, give Wendell a Red Turnip. Sahara may
give you a Red Vase instead of the Turban, and Wendell may give you a Country 
Guitar instead of a Turban.

Q: Can you get a character's pic more than once?
A: Yes you can. A character may give one human character their pic more than 
once, or you can get the pic again by using a different human character.

Q: How did you make this guide?
A: To make this guide, I hacked every animal's pic into my game. I then looked
at everyone and wrote down their pic phrase, clothes, etc. It seems like it
would have taken forever, but it didn't. I also accepted many contributions
from members of the GameFAQs AC:WW board. Without them, this guide would not be
here! You guys rock! 

Q: How do you hack?
A: You use an action replay. You upload your save on to your computer. From
there you can edit it with the map editor from here: 
http://aibohack.com/nds/index.html   I would recommend reading that website if
you are interested. It shows all of the features and explains it much better
than I can. Hacking is not using cheats, like AR codes, which is what many 
believe.

Q: I've been sending *villager* letters daily and talking to them a lot for
weeks, but they still won't give me their pic! What gives?
A: I really have no advice for this. Just keep trying. It seems like it is
easier to get some animal's pics easier, especially jock males, and harder to
get others, like snooty females, from my experience.

Q: How can I help this guide?
A: Anything that you can think of, whether it would be a question, a

Q: Is it true that if you get an animal's pic, they will never move from your
town?
A: No, this is not true. Sadly, animals will still move if you get their pic.

Q: Well then how do I get villager's to not move?
A: When you see them moving with their moving boxes in their house and stuff,
talk to them a lot. You can basically reply with "Don't go!" or "Bye!" Keep
saying "Don't go!" (or something silimar) and they will most likely say 
something like "My mind is made up," or "I have to go." Keep trying until they
say something that makes them sound doubtful, like "Well.. maybe I'll stay" or
something like that. That means that they probably will stay.
