I made the canoe but I can't use it. I tap on the arrow and it says examine.

You have to click in a specific spot. My game was being picky so you just have to keep clicking the arrow and the area around it until you can expolre. Make sure you have enough energy too. Smile

There is an arrow you click on, just like if you want to reach a new area in the game. It's right by the boat.
