Question for The Sims 2: Castaway

AHHHH PLEASE HELP ME! I'm trying to get to the third island and I've built the canoe, but all it lets me do is 'Examine' it!! Do I need an oar/ paddle or something to use it? Plus how on earth do you make a knife?!!

The canoe is built in a few days so make sure that it is 100% complete...I first thought mine was done after the one day I worked on it but I had to go back 2 other times before it was done. You do not need an oar/paddle. After it's done just click on it and an arrow will appear right next to it on the ground. As far as the knife goes you receive it as a gift after completing one of you missions. I just can't remember if it is from the gardener or from Susie. Hope this helps.

Also, make sure you click the arrow and not the canoe because it will only let you examine the canoe. The arrow will say "use canoe" and click that
