Try going to the crafting station. Its one of the mystery items I think.

First you go to the bridge then it unlocks it as a ? Mark you need vines and go the item crating station hope it works =)

To make rope you can go to the east plains and collect sisal. Then use a crafting bench to make it. You need 5 sisal to make 1 piece of rope.
