Stuck at 19%

I have been wondering for days now - I have the spear and one tool , but I can't find the knife or the fishing pole or the spade or the crowbar - and how do I make the log into a boat? Is this how I will get to the 3rd island? Also, no matter what I do, the Chef is very unhappy. Where do I get the thin vines to make thread? How do I get a needle? I really seem stuck, even tho I have tons of bugs and fish and veggies and fruit. And I'm missing whatever it takes to cook food - all I can do is warm my hands on the fire. HELP!

Well....this is one of the few games I have played and (very almost) finished. Joking..

Anyway. You have to get your friendship up with him to 50%+ or when the friendship bar goes green. Otherwise you just make him dislike you more....the friendship bar thingy is also where the treasure map is...the last tab on the survival guide. Only then he will accept the chilie as a deliverd item. Too get your frendship up with him give him a gift of zucchini plant witch is located near the crafting station.
