I'm in the ice temple on the left hand side of 1F and I can't get the ice spike to go down

Pass the ice spike ,walk as far as you can go and the answer is there.hope I was helpful!

Walk as far south as you can past the stairs with the spikes. Jump up on the pole and then use your boomerang to hit the orb.
