Ive got all the toads except the one in hoos wood, first level. All the walkthroughs state it is just a case of busting through the blocks and getting the last one, but it has a brown set of 3 blocks I can get through. I can't use any vibes on it, or access it any other way, I'm tearing my hair out...

I had this same problem, too. The toad you don't have isn't the last one, it's actually the first one.
When you first enter the level, you need to climb up the far left set of columns. Once you reach the top of the column, you need to walk to the very left and then use floatbrella to jump to the platform to your left. There willl be an upside down pipe there. (That is the area you are seeing through the blocks towards end.) There will be some sad nippers, so kill them before you use your vibe. Then you need to use the joy vibe to get into the upper right. That is where the toad will be.
