Question for Super Mario 64 DS

How do I get the water outside the castle 2 drain...i only just started this game and I have mario but I'm confused...

You need to have beaten the first bowser then you need to unlock the door in the basement when you go into the door and you see the entrance to lava land turn right and you should see 2 doors one with a platform that you ahve to jump to get on and one that is unmarked. Go into the one that is unmarked and swim under that area into the nest one there should be 2 platforms. Jump onto one of them and ground pound it (it should go under water) then jump onto the other one and do the same adn all the water should rain out if you go out of the door there you will be in the moat but there will be no water. It's kinda pointless untill you unlock wario (so you can break open the black box and get the secret level.) hope this helps
