If you mean the light that is shining on the sun pattern on the floor then you stand on the pattern and press x. Then use the arrow keys to look up at the roof where the light is coming in. You'll be teleported to the sky, but remember, only Mario can accomplish this task. You have to go to the tower right under the rainbow circles and press the ? Mark switch in the middle. All your ? Boxes are now solid.
