Question for Super Mario 64 DS

In the Bobomb Battlefield level what the heck do you do in "Mario Wings To The Sky"?!?! I'm Pretty New To This game and I'm having trouble finding out how to get this star. I hope someone can help me on this.

You have to have the Wing Cap to do this level. Now, talk to the Bob-Omb Buddy to open the cannons. Get in the cannon in the big clearing ahead and aim as high as you can (or something, I don't exactly remember).

To get to the floating island. Another way to get to the floating island is to climb the mountain without taking the shortcuts and jump in the cannon. Then, aim at the top of the tree on the island.

Get the Wing Cap and jump in the cannon. Aim at the center coin in the ring of coins and fire. To beat the star, you have to get the center coin in all 5 rings (you'll know you flew through the right coin when a number appears).

If you aim exactly right, Mario will zoom through all 5 rings without you having to move him at all. If he doesn't, fly him back through the center coins.

Remember that the Wing Cap wears off. After you fly through all 5 rings, a star will appear down in the area where the red coin star appears. It is to the left after you get off the tilting bridge, don't go up the steps.

It is possible to fly down with the Wing Cap to get to the star easily. Just ground pound when you want to stop flying.
