I have 149 stars but I can't figure out the last one, I missed my chance to collect eight red coins from the boo's courtyard by killing the boo's, and I've tried talking to all the Toads 2 and 3 X's each but still nothing. Can someone please tell me how to get the last star. Thank you for your answers.

You might be forgetting a secret star on The Princess' Secret Slide. If you finish in less than 20 seconds, you get another star.
Perhaps you missed the 2nd star outside the castle, under the black brick. As wario, grab the mario cap and hit the ? Block to go into balloon mode and float across the gap right after the long fall.
Well I'm stuck too but did you get 100 coins in the 15 courses to get a star?
Maybe you didn`t use luigi in the mirror room and go in the reflected door of the door you entered from.
