You should just go into a cave or on your field (best after a tornado) and you can find stumps, go to Leo and upgrade your axe to a iron one first and then silver and so forth. Then you can go back and cut them down. Cutting down a stump gives you 10 pieces of wood, per each.
You will see logs in your farm and in the cave bianca already gives you one when she comes to your house and then you go to her house and talk to her and she will give you an axe you can cut it with the axe!
And then you can go to leo's shop and make your axe better..!
