the man who controls the bridge

The man who controls the bridge asked me to do a quest for him it was to see how his nan was but I don't no where she is please help and thanks

Ok. From the ranger depot, go east and continue to another "screen"(as if you were going to the pier). On the current screen(before the pier), search for stairs going north, use them and continue going north until you see a fountain. Ahead you'll see two houses, the brown one is brook's house, you'll find his mom there. Hope this helps!
