Partner Pokemon

I really want to get Hippopotas as my partner Pokemon when I get the game. Is there any way I can make sure get him instead of one of the other pokemon? Thanks!

No if you just started the game you only get the three choices starly munchlax or pachurisu. But later in the game you can get hippopotas. In the Habura Village, theres a boy just next to the Ranger Centre

Heyy, so far I'm pretty far in the game and their has been no chance of getting a hippopotas as a Pokemon partner,, their has only been croagunk, munchlax, shellos, and that seagull one and also cricketot.

Oh sorry bout that you must be further in the game than I am so yerhh you can get hippopotus...........

You can get Hippopotas. There is a boy in Haruba village that asks for a quest. He says he saw a Pokemon (or a tumbleweed) on the top of Hippowdon Temple, and it's in trouble. When you reach Hippowdon Temple, you see the Hippopotos dangling from the top of the Temple. When you make your way to the top of the temple, Hippopotos will challange you. Catch it, and then it will bond with you. Now it's your partner pokemon!!

Hippopotas joins you as a partner Pokemon once you've completed the game. Clear the Haruba Village young boy's quest "Who Is on Hippowdon's Nose?" by rescuing hippopotas from falling off the second floor of hippowdon temple (which looks like hippowdon's head). Hope this helps!
