After you battle the Snorlax outside of Diglett Cave, you can go through the cave. You will come out near Pewter City. After you defeat the Pewter City Gym Leader, you should head south. You will get to Viridian City after you go through Viridian Forest.

You go through digletts cave to pewter city then go south, to get to digletts cave you have to get the pokeflute radio station - you have to go to the radio station ( not in goldenrod ) and some guy will improve your radio. After that manualy tune your radio station to the top of your radio, play this near snorlax and he will wake up and YOUR ON YOUR WAY
